2011 is an exciting year for Porter Novelli! Our Hispanic Marketing team will be reporting real time from South by Southwest providing the Hispanic perspective on the latest technology news presented at this year’s SXSW Interactive conference.
We are excited to see SXSW Interactive schedule increase in U.S. Hispanic focused presentations compared to last year which is a huge bright spot for companies looking to increase revenue by attracting the fastest growing demographic in the U.S. Hispanics are over-indexing the general population when adopting emerging technologies into their daily lives. The amount of Hispanics engaged in new technology and social media is translating into additional panels and presentations at the conference for smart companies to capitalize on. This year, there are over five Hispanic panel discussions, including: Latino Link: Marketing to Spanish-Speakers Using Digital Platforms; Reaching Hispanics Through Mobile – GobiernoUSA.gov’s Experience; Latinas in Technology: Beauty, Brains and Blogging; and Hispanic Marketing After the 2010 Census.
We also expect to see a larger presence of Hispanic marketing and social media practitioners, which we will be connecting with to gather best practices and insights of all the panel discussions presented at this year’s conference. U.S. Hispanics love to stay updated with the latest technology news and since the conference is a launching pad for new creative content, we are curious to see how much of a presence and impact the U.S. Hispanic market will have on this year’s interactive conference.
Finally, on behalf of our entire Hispanic Marketing team, we would like to congratulate Mando Rayo, a local Latino blogger, who was named one of 10 honorees for the 2011 SXSW Interactive Dewey Winburne Community Service Award. ¡Felicidades!
