The sessions and awards roll on at the Cannes Lions Festival and we’re analyzing them.
On Wednesday, BBDO, Ogilvy, Digitas and DDB led agency social media volume of mentions. BBDO and DDB ranked in the top four for two days in a row. Sixty-seven percent of Digitas mentions were consumers retweeting @Digitas content. Meanwhile, 56% of #PNID mentions came from @dannydevriendt or a RT of @dannydevriendt. We expect Porter Novelli’s volume to go up when we analyze Thursday, in response to the tweeting campaign that he and Marta Majewska have been doing all day today.
The Droga5 Jay-Z Decoded campaign for Microsoft continues to drive campaign conversation the day after winning the Outdoor Grand Prix. This innovative cross platform campaign had pieces of the artist’s biography placed over outdoor spaces. Despite the winning submission being a digital integration, jurors decried gratuitous use of “technology for technology’s sake” in many submissions.
As for the seminars, Time Warner (22%), Google (16%), and Facebook (15%) drove the majority of mentions. The Time Warner session, ‘Thinking Inside the Box,’ is about the “Golden age of TV Everywhere” and the opportunities that smart TV represent for the industry. See the intro video here.
