Global public relations leader Porter Novelli (PN) today announced that it has been named the public relations agency of record for the industry-funded agriculture promotion group, National Honey Board (NHB).
Porter Novelli will support the NHB’s work to provide education on honey by managing the Board’s consumer brand with strategic plan development, media and influencer relations and counsel on current issues and trends.
“It’s an honor to be collaborating with the National Honey Board as they continue to educate the public on the nutritional information, benefits and uses for honey and honey products,” said Linda Martin, APR, partner and managing director, Porter Novelli Southern California.
As the research and promotion board of the honey industry, the NHB engages consumers, retailers, food manufacturers, and foodservice professionals through various marketing programs in order to educate them on honey’s versatility and its many culinary benefits.
The National Honey Board dedicates a minimum of five percent of its annual budget to support honey bee health research. In addition, the board provides industry members with low and no cost educational materials and promotional products.
National Honey Board Chief Executive Officer Margaret Lombard says, “We couldn’t be happier to have such a strong partner in Porter Novelli. We are confident that our collaborative efforts will bring honey and honey bees to the forefront with consumers and the food industry alike, benefiting the entire industry.”
